Matt Williams

Lecturer in Biblical Hebrew

BA (Hons) (USyd); Dip.Lang.Stud. (USyd)

As a keen student of ancient languages, Matt had the opportunity to study a bundle of Semitic languages (Classical Hebrew, Aramaic and Syriac) alongside Classics (Ancient Greek and Latin) at the University of Sydney.

Matt teaches Hebrew language at SMBC, acting as the first guide for those starting down the path of engaging with the Tanakh texts in their original languages. He also works with an entirely different set of languages as part of SMBC's Technology team.

Matt, Liz and their daughter sometimes lovingly foster plants on their balcony, and sometimes test out their survival abilities.
