Want to explore in more depth the thorny issues raised in Paul’s letter to the Corinthians and the practical wisdom of 1 Peter? How did the values in 1st century Corinth impact the Corinthian church and their view of the Christian life and ministry? Why did Peter see God's people as strangers within the world, how does that transform how to live, speak, and suffer for the gospel?

These letters to 1st century Christians continue to speak to us and our church life today. For both books we will survey the whole of the letter, while also focusing on key passages throughout. We’ll explore themes such as cross-centred wisdom, sexual ethics in a non-Christian world, the role of Jesus as an example for our lives, and the importance of suffering for the sake of mission.

For Greek students, there will be opportunities to lead and present an analysis of select Greek passages.
